Haiku Checker

Privacy Policy

Plain-language summary: your poems aren't stored or published, no account is required, and analytics never include your poem text.

What we collect

When you use the Haiku Checker, Syllable Counter, Haiku Generator, or Haiku Rater, the text you enter is sent to our server to compute a result (syllable counts, structure analysis, a score) and is not written to a database. Standard web server logs may briefly record technical request metadata (like IP address, for rate-limiting abuse prevention) for a short retention period, separate from the poem text itself.

If you use the "report an incorrect syllable count" feature, we collect the word, your suggested correction, and any explanation you provide, so it can be reviewed — see Accuracy & Methodology.

What we don't do

  • We don't require an account to use any tool on this site.
  • We don't store your poems in a database by default.
  • We don't publish your poems anywhere.
  • We don't use your poem text to train AI models.
  • We don't include your poem text in analytics events or put it in a URL.
  • We don't sell personal data.

Analytics

We may use privacy-conscious, anonymized analytics to understand which tools and pages are useful (for example, how often the checker is used, or which mode is more popular) — never the content of what you type.

Third parties

The optional AI Rewrite Assistant, once connected to a live provider, would send only the poem text you explicitly submit for that feature to that provider to generate a suggestion — this will be clearly disclosed in the product at the point of use. No other tool on this site sends your text to a third party.

Your choices

Because no account is required and nothing is stored by default, there's generally nothing to delete. If you've submitted a correction report and want it removed, contact us.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the "last updated" date at the top of this page.
